See & do

📍
  • The Ducasse de Mons or Doudou is the name of a more than a week-long series of festivities or Ducasse. It originated as a religious parade first mentioned in 1248 of religious items similar to the parade in Tournai. From the 14th century it changed to a more popular celebration including the fight against a dragon, but kept the original parade. The top of the celebration takes place every year on Trinity Sunday. In 2005 it received world heritage status by UNESCO. Highlights include:
  • Dour Festival. "European Alternative Music Event" - 15-19 July 2026. EUR 80-365 per day. (updated Apr 2026)
